Dimitrie Belizarie painted in neo-Byzantine style the Patriarchal Cathedral of Bucharest (1932 - 1935) and the "Sfântul Ilie" Monastery from Toplița (1928), as well as the "Sfântul Nicolae" church from Comarnic, the cathedral from Costești (Argeș), the monastery church from Căldăruşani (1911), the Metropolitan Church of Târgoviște, and in Bucharest the church "Sfânta Vineri" and the Cărămidari church (1929 - 1930). In 1937, Belizarie served as vice president of the Fine Arts Union. Together with painter Arthur Verona, he painted in 1936 the Chapel of the Bellu Cemetery in Bucharest. At the beginning of the 20th century, Arthur Verona together with the painter Dimitrie Belizarie founded a painting school near the Metropolitan Church of Bucharest, which wanted to bring Romanian painting in Orthodox iconography back to Byzantine traditions, both in fresco and in easel iconography. Belizarie also painted the icons of the temple from the church of the Romanian Settlement in Jerusalem. Towards the end of his life, Dimitrie Belizarie donated to the Fine Arts Union his property at 25 Nedeia Street, Bucharest. The intended purpose of the donation was that union members who did not have a livelihood use the property, and the title of the location was Căminul Belizarie, later on the frontispiece of the building was written "Syndicate of Fine Arts, donation painter Belizarie Domnești - Muscel".
