loan Diacul from Lunca, Mureș county is known for numerous works spread in Mureș, Cluj, Alba and Bistrița-Năsăud counties, this painter received a name only in 2013, his signature being finally found on a triptych-pomelnic from Parva (Bistrița-Năsăud County) and on an icon of Archangel Michael from Brâncovenești (Mureș County). A glass icon from the collection of the Reghin Museum, also a replica of the Mother of Jesus with the Baby from Nicula, proves that he also practiced this technique. With a very graphic style, his creation can be dated to the first decades after the middle of the 18th century. This means that Ioan Diacul from Lunca is one of the pioneers of glass painting in Transylvania.
