On the deep background of the icon, painted in green, is shown, below the waist, Saint Nicholas dressed in a blue tunic over which he wears a red brick felon and a white omophorion with red crosses. The right hand is used for blessing while his left hand, veiled, holds the Gospel. The face, rendered according to the iconography, is modelled in shades of ochre from dark brown to lighted parts painted with light ochre. Note the more graphic representation, according to the post-Brâncovenesc style. A halo of embossed silver decorated with plant motifs is applied over the halo.
