Jesus Christ is represented as king and high bishop, seated in an imposing golden seat, richly ornamented, blessing and keeping the Gospel open. He is flanked by the Mother of Jesus and St. John the Baptist as intercessors. Elements such as the blue background, the more graphic creation of the faces and the draping of the clothes, different from the tradition, the vivid chromatics, are defining features of the post-Brâncovenesc style.
