Estimate:
EUR 1.500 - 2.500

oil on canvas, 50 x 65 cm, signed with initials in the lower right, in orange, "A.U."

After a period of nomadic education and formative years in Vienna, the beginning of the twenties of the 20th century marked a crucial turning point in the artist's life and a transition to a phase of full creative maturity within his homeland. Following the end of the First World War, Uvodić has devoted himself intensively to recording social changes in his birth city. From 1921 to 1923, he actively renovated and illustrated the second series of the satirical magazine Duje Balavac, working side by side with his brother Marko and the artist Ante Katunarić. The turning point in his career occurred in 1924 when he and Emanuel Vidović held a joint exhibition that officially opened the iconic Salon Galić, confirming both artists as leading figures of modern Split art.
