7. Portrait of Actress Luna Davidova [1980s]

The name of Genko Genkov is a symbol of creative freedom and the assertion of one's own artistic outlook. In his early paintings from the late 1950s and early 1960s, his painting is delicate and tonally moderate. The direction he chooses in the following decades is towards increasingly active values ​​of color in compositionally simplified natural landscapes and portraits. The painting "Portrait of the Actress Luna Davidova" is a vivid example of the portraits that Genko Genkov worked on in the 1980s. of the last century. The work captivates the viewer with its sonorous color, the light that the colors emit and the energy with which the bright ribbon-like strokes are applied.
