The landscapes of Dobruja became the target of Steriadi as early as the first years of his career, with Mangalia and Cernavodă being the first places he visited and interpreted, often with an ascribed Impressionism. Steriadi managed to reach a certain chromatic intensity in his landscapes, by using the very optical qualities provided by the chosen time of the day. What is surprising is that this intensity is often shaped and obtained with cold touches of blue and green, which Steriadi uses to purify his shades of ochre and pink.
