What remains tangible is the artist's spirit, nowhere more prominent than in his Venices, omnipresent, omniscient, like this authentic view, unique in depicting the present nature - of the place, of the painter's time, as well as of the beholder's. The features depicted in the sphere of the beautiful are flat and they call to the present, current and immediate time; at the same time, the subject creates the impression of an eternal, timeless charm. The beholder is not invited to think or to reflect in spirals of intellectual perspectives, but is encouraged to feel and to experience now, along with the artist, the instance conveyed in a monumental manner.
