The artwork is a study drawn in ink for the engraving "Chitarista" ("The Guitarist"), version V, etching made by Gheorghe PetraÈcu throughout 1932. The artist was due to work on 5 versions in the cycle "Chitariste" ("Guitarists"), the present ink drawing being an integrating part of this cycle, but in a drawn version.
