On the central panel of the triptych, under a trilobed arch made in high relief, the Deisis scene is depicted, against the blue background of the icon. In the center of the composition, Jesus Christ is seated in a throne with a curved back. He holds with his left hand the closed Gospel, with golden covers decorated with pearls, and with his right hand he blesses. He wears a purplish red chiton and a blue himation, gold-lettered. Around his head, he carries a halo. The intercessors, the Virgin Mary and Saint John the Baptist, are depicted standing, to the right and left of the throne. They have significantly elongated silhouettes, specific to the Moldavian paintings of the previous century. The typology and the models of the faces of Jesus Christ and of the intercessors are characteristic of the painting practiced in Moldova in that era, a painting that continues the tradition of the previous century. On the left wing, the standing Archangel Michael is depicted, on a golden background, holding the seal of Jesus Christ with his left hand. He wears a red tunic and a golden loros, richly decorated with rows of pearls. On the right wing, Saint Marina is depicted standing, wearing a red dress with golden embroidery and precious stones. With her left hand, she holds the devil by the horns, and with the right one, with which she has a hammer, she strikes him powerfully on the head. The closed triptych has the Crucifixion Cross and the signs of the Passion painted in gold, on a red background. Around it, stylized floral motifs, painted in gold. (A.D.)
