The letter G is the symbol of geometry. For the founders of Masonry, it was the initial and one of the symbols of God. Heraldry often associates it with the square and compasses - the coat of arms of symbolic Masonry (of the first three degrees). Geometry is a major art and science for Masons. Mason authors often refer to Plato's famous expression: "God geometrizes continually" (in Anglo-Saxon Masonry, the expression combines both meanings of letter G). In Freemasonry, geometry is not only a mathematical science, but the divine and moral meaning of abstract truth.
