The gavel represents the force of the will, the iron determination to succeed. The mason's hammer was used to "break the sharp corners of the rough stone, making it more suitable for the builder's work." So some specialists believe that the real mason's gavel should be the one with a sharp end, and not the wood hammer with both ends rounded, because the latter could not "break the sharp corners of the stone."

For clarifications regarding the bidding procedure, hammer price costs, guarantee, payment, and collection terms for the winning lot, we recommend carefully reading/re-reading the Bidding Regulations.
