Description

Cela Neamțu illustrates her entire creative universe with the help of the materials used in her works. A graduate of the Textile Art section of the "Nicolae Grigorescu" Institute, she works with tapestries using the "haute-lisse" technique - a vertical-style weaving. The window, a reoccurring motif in the artist’s works, appears as a pioneer of light, a facilitator for this path to light. The leitmotif window represents a bridge, a place of passage; a way of perpetuating and preserving the primordial mystery, meant to inspire and engage the viewer. The artist performs a vertical weaving of a dream that ascends to the sky, like a magic spell. In the work at hand, the window multiplies, resulting in a triptych that needs to be clarified. The balance between shapes and colours coexists in a clear, serene, and easily decipherable composition.
