Description
The monumental work begins with two splendid portraits of King Carol I and Queen Elisabeth. The purpose of the piece was to show the state of the church after its restoration by Leconte de Nouy, who was brought from France for this purpose. The album is richly illustrated. The copy has a restored spine. The fourth cover reproduces a period photograph of the monastic ensemble seen in perspective. The thread is gilded.
