Description
The Romanian typographer Zaharia Carcalechi (1784-1856) published several works in Romanian at Buda, among which also the magazine "Biblioteca Românească", a periodical that included a diverse summary and which enjoyed great popularity at the time. The magazine also represented a means of national struggle in an era when Romanians were considered a tolerated nation in the Habsburg Empire. It circulated not only in Transylvania but also in the Principalities.
