G. C. Robescu, Doctor of Law, was the mayor of Galaţi in several terms (from 1891 to 1907), Covurlui representative in the Parliament. He lived in an imposing palace, the work of the architect Ion Mincu, with many decorations and 41 rooms, an architectural monument.
