France of the first decade of the 20th century - the itinerary around Monet, in Giverny, the first trip from North Africa (1911), the three years spent in the Nippon Islands (1912-1915), the stay in New York (1916), the short journey from the Antilles, the years spent in Venezuela (1917-1919) or in Spain and in the Maghreb area of North Africa (1921) mark about 15 years in which Mützner discovers, works, exhibits and influences artistic movements on three continents. In 1916 he leaves for Venezuela where he will stay for 3 years and will work intensively in Caracas, Margarita Island, San Juan, Curacao, the Antilles Islands. The impact of the Caribbean archipelago was to be immediate and, even if the picturesque Nippon was still fresh in his imagination, Mützner will then realize one of the most interesting and exotic pictorial cycles of his career. On this occasion he renews his chromatics, the palette will resonate with the new hues applied, and the volumes will vibrate strongly due to the new shadow-light values performed here. He turns to the violent light and lush vegetation of the tropics that initially had overwhelmed him at Ceylon, and he rediscovers with even greater delight in the Caribbean Sea, Puerto Rico and Venezuela, in Caracas and Margarita Island. In the enchanting ambiance of the Venezuelan coastline and the Caribbean Sea, he worked almost one, scenes from the lives of Antilles fishermen, people with lean bodies, sunburned, a world full of movement against the backdrop of a sea with emerald green. He was declared Honorary Consul of Venezuela in Bucharest and only because of his categorical refusal, the national flag of this country was not flown at the gate of his house in Plantelor street.
