"The works of Keazim Isinov have their place in the panorama of our visual arts. Without him, it would be incomplete and inaccurate. They confront us with issues about tradition, transformation, and use of folklore and mythological subjects, about the form and peculiarities of artistic expression, about the aesthetic uniqueness of the author's perspective, about the artistic approach through which the painter directly affirms social, moral-ethical, and moral values." With these words, the art critic Boris Danailov presents the main trends in the rich and distinctive work of Keazim Isinov. A student in the painting course of Prof. Nenko Balkanski, artist Isinov, is a distinctive figure in the development of artistic forms from the second half of the 20th century. In the overall work of Keazim Isinov, the interests and knowledge about Bulgarian culture, folklore, myths, and history are revealed. Evidence is works such as Apostles of the Word (1981), Gold of Dobrudzha (1982), Khan Krum (1983), Orpheus and Eurydice (1984) and many others, through which the creator immerses us in a fairytale and intriguing world. Keazim Isinov has a distinctive handwriting in the depiction of folklore-mythological images from the traditions, legends, songs, and others, in which "the elements and details in the composition literally follow the original... But this is a credibility that does not sound natural." The creator uses metaphors and as a skilled painter unfolds the fantastic with imagination and finesse. In the presented work, Keazim Isinov has depicted King Marko and his bride in a treasured scene. The image of King Marko we encounter in a cycle of works by the artist, probably intrigued by the story of the legendary character who was a brave hero with unheard-of and unseen powers. The story of King Marko - king of the Prilep kingdom (now. North Macedonia), later a vassal of the Ottoman sultan, lauded in folk epic, is intriguing to this day for historians. Usually in Isinov's cycle of works on King Marko, he is depicted in a heroic scene, and here a more intimate and personal image of the hero is revealed. Marko and his wife sat close to each other holding hands, each with their attributes. Marko with a mace in his hand and weapons at his waist, and the bride with a richly decorated dress and beside her a spindle with wool. From ancient times, the spindle was considered a magical instrument with the help of which threads are delivered, which also appears as a spiritual symbol, which many nations recognize as the unity of "Heaven and Earth". The thread is a symbol of time, the connection between the past, present, and future. Keazim Isinov is a storyteller, an inspiration for interpreting and experiencing stories. His works invite the viewer to fantasize with him. (A.M.)
