74. Portrait of Ralitsa (the daugther of the artist)

The name of Lilyana Ruseva is among the women artists who contributed to the development of Bulgarian art in the second half of the 20th century. What makes Ruseva’s work significant is her masterful approach to depicting and spiritualizing nature and the portrayed individuals. Through her series of landscapes, portraits, self-portraits, still lifes, figurative compositions, and nudes, the artist tells stories about her world, the personal histories of the figures present in her paintings, and the intimate connection between people and their everyday environment. “Portrait of Ralitsa” is precisely a work of this nature.
