Luis Figo is a Portuguese footballer, one of the most famous of his generation and, among the few who have played equally at the two rival Spanish clubs, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. He won the Golden Ball in 2000, was named the FIFA Player of the Year in 2001, and in 2004 he was included on the list of the top 100 footballers of all time. Although he won the Golden Ball as a result of his sporting activity at FC Barcelona, the moment of his transfer to Real Madrid not only sparked controversy, or a financial record for sports transfers at that time, but also a deep antipathy from Barcelona supporters, making El Clasico matches more of a fan spectacle. At FC Barcelona, he formed an unbeatable duo with Rivaldo, while at Real Madrid he contributed alongside Zidane and Beckham and Roberto Carlos to what went down in history as the Galactic Era. After Real Madrid, he transferred to Inter Milan and, to this day, his number 7 jersey is displayed at the San Siro Museum.
