The work is the first French edition in Paul Rycaul's English translation printed by Seb. Mambre-Cramoisy. It is a very valuable print presenting one of the most appreciated political, military and religious frescoes of the 17th century Ottoman Empire. The engravings depict political figures, costumes, military ranks, etc., and are the work of French engraver Sebastien Leclerc. With 5 unnumbered pages, 382 numbered pages and one sheet with one full-page engraving and 23 engravings in the text. Also shows other typographical decoration, frontispiece initials and end vignettes with oriental images. The engravings are accompanied by explanatory texts. Text size 19 x 12.5 cm, with 33 lines per full page. 20th century binding, full black leather bonded on cardboard with embellishments in embossed stamp. Red coloured tranche. The front cover has an ex-libris label.
