Fascinated by dance, music and the dynamism of bodies, Cornel Brudașcu stood out with a style reminiscent of post-Impressionism. The painter's works are marked by an almost painful Pathos, having a personal restlessness. Cornel Brudașcu's compositions are imbued with an erotic naturality. The artist did not set out to transform his own identity into a central theme, but we can infer from his work the journey of self-acceptance. His most abstract paintings bring back into focus the random feeling of alienation. With an almost instinctive, unstable brushwork, Brudașcu portrays dynamic faces and bodies, often found in rich and saturated spaces. Thus, Cornel Brudașcu aligns his own experiences with translations that can be adapted and stylistically contextualized. With each "translation", there is a certain loss of the original meaning, and in this framework the game of intimacy intervenes. Cornel Brudașcu continued the tradition of the great masters, his universe being shaped like a story composed of fleeting fragments. In this respect, the painter reveals a certain intensity in his work. A plea for sexuality with the help of sensual movements, which refer to a personal eroticism, without being vulgar. Cornel Brudașcu develops, during the 60s, the capacity of a new visual language. Almost exclusively concerned with bodies, the artist managed to write a real biography about the experience and living of the masculine caught between erotic representations and those depicting personal anxieties. The present work entitled "Music" is part of a larger series dedicated to music and male bodies, timidly captured, in the intimacy of sound. Brudașcu's characters are sensual, despite their apparently solid bodies. The viewer can observe how the contours of the two male figures intertwine with the rhythms of the music. With a dark chromatic palette, the painter cleverly captures a personal intuitive setting. His people are together, locked in a game of shadows and dark tones.
