51. The Wizard of Oz [2018]

Between the years 1955-1959, he was a student at the "Ion Neculce" High School in Bucharest, and between the years 1959-1965 he attended the courses of the "Nicolae Grigorescu" Institute of Fine Arts, having as teachers Vasile Kazar, Eugen Schileru and Horia Teodoru. Regarding the work at hand, one can notice the concentration and surprise in the foreground of a mysterious character elegantly dressed in a suit, with a blue outfit, with shoes of the same color and with a black hat that can lead us to think of the "Scarecrow" character from the story "The Wizard of Oz" due to the clothing that is very similar to that of the scarecrow from the story who wore a hat and shoes of this color. The character's gaze is oriented towards the flowers as if they are urging the viewer to look in this direction to appreciate their beauty. In the context of the work, the most dominant colors are the blue of the character's clothes and the flowers, but also the black that is present in the background of the scene.
