Sculptor Dan Istrate was born in 1975 in Cluj, Romania, where he lives and works today. In 1993, he graduated from the "Ioan Andreescu" Academy of Visual Arts in Cluj, in 2005, he graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti, Carrara, Italy, sculpture major. In 2008 he got his Master"s Degree in sculpture from the Accademia di Belle Arti, Carrara, Italy, and in 2012 he got his PhD in visual arts at UAD, Cluj-Napoca. He lived and worked in Carrara, Italy, for many years. His portfolio of exhibitions is impressive. He is an artist who has been awarded many national and international prizes, among which we mention the Grand Prize at the Ube, Yamaguchi Biennale in Japan, in 201
