Constantin Piliuță continued the tradition of indigenous lyricism, the painter having a meticulous and slow creative process to prove his respect for reality and national conscience. His work represents a constant exercise of balance, seeking harmony in every contour. Constantin Piliuță managed to weave his own structure, based on lyricism and metaphors. The diegesis of his paintings is ambitious. The painter proposes to penetrate the human soul. Convinced that art is meant to produce emotion, Constantin Piliuță approaches all genres of painting, however, each time returning to the beauty of landscapes and flowers. From his master, Ciucurencu, Constantin Piliuță learned that a painting is a narrative about color, through which he fervently transmits his emotional experiences. Touched by the landscapes of his childhood, the artist fills his canvases with reminiscences of memories, telling viewers that all these idyllic places are real. Still life and landscapes have become the main genres explored by Constantin Piliuță. Thus, the artist’s inspiration comes from the harmony of the village, with houses arranged under the sign of the sun, gardens with flowers and trees. A world saturated with light, which he reproduces through a lyrical postmodernist style. Constantin Piliuță is undoubtedly fascinated by flowers, having a dedicated series of works where flowers represent the nucleus of the painting. "No other contemporary artist possesses better than Piliuță the power to metamorphose the human into floral", the poet Grigore Hagiu would say about the acclaimed painter. Thus, his artistic debut carries a floral imprint, which Constantin Piliuță perfects over the years, especially in the period of the '60s-'80s. Therefore, the present work emanates the artist's sensitivity. He himself observes the charm of the flowers and explores this abundance of organic color in his paintings. Works like: "Red Flowers," "Flowers and Pears," "Past Flowers" are just a few of the works from the series dedicated to flowers. For the surface of his compositions to inspire life, Constantin Piliuță eliminates dark tones and strives to reproduce light in the belly of his canvas. Thus, the present work, "Anemone", is also the carrier of light bundles through the used chromatic palette: violet, green, white, and brown. The color surface seems to be transparent, letting light pass through. He is the painter of simplified flowers, functionally fixed in the painting, which become symbols for natural beauty. Thus, a painter with a deeply lyrical vision, Constantin Piliuță renders, against the background of color encounters, his personal sensitivity. Constantin Piliuță captures the fragile, almost imperceptible sway of the flowers. (C.M.)
