The photographer Aurel Bauh (1900-1964) was closely acquainted with the world of avant-garde writers and artists in Romania, a world of which he was a full member. He was remarkable as an art photographer and as an important portrait painter, loved by his colleagues and contemporaries. At the end of the 1950s he left Romania and settled in France where he worked until his premature death.
