One of the most represented mythological creatures in the history of art, the Minotaur appears repeatedly in Salvador Dali's work. The Minotaur encompasses themes such as duality, power, or the awakening of the subconscious, being enclosed within the limits of the labyrinth and succumbing to the suppression of primary instincts. In 1936, Dali worked on the cover of the surrealist magazine ”Minotaur”, published in Paris. He then resumed the motif and proposed an anthropomorphic figure, that poses as a model and has attached, as in the case of other works of the artist, some drawers. Symbols such as ephemeralness or emptiness once again come to the attention of the viewers.
