Completely glazed crater, of small dimensions, with handles. Cylindrical body with flared lip. The vessel is decorated with red figures. On one of the two sides is painted a female head (protome) coiffed with a decorated sakkos. On the other side, a seated female figure, holding a platter of offerings in front of a crater in a calyx placed on a tripod. White color additions are applied to the sakkos ornament, the earrings, the crown on her head, the beads at her neck and to the plants in the middle of which the head is found, in both female representations. The scenes are framed by a veil motif at the bottom and a string of v-shaped drawings under the lip. Gilt motifs and gold inlays were added with black varnish, creating visually stunning vessels that imitated those of silver and bronze. Many of these vessels were exported from Greece, suggesting that Athenian manufacturers were catering to a clientele fond of luxury, not only from among the Greeks, but also from the entire Mediterranean.
