Informacije o istraživanju
Aurel Giroveanu was a renowned pianist, conductor and composer of Jewish origin. He started his musical studies during his childhood in Piatra NeamÈ (1928-1933) with Malvina Manascu (piano), Head of Music Colonel MareÈ, and Professor Alberto Cirillo (theory - solfeggio). Then, he went on to study at the "Egizio Massini" Conservatory in Bucharest (1933-1937) with Egizio Massini (orchestration, conducting and orchestra), Miron Constantinescu (piano), Renzo della Pergolla (theory - solfeggio), Leon Klepper (harmony, counterpoint, composition, 1950-1953). He perfected his studies with Ion Dumitrescu (composition) and Tudor Ciortea (musical forms) at the classes of the Union of Composers (1954-1955). He was a piano player in musical ensembles in Bucharest (1944-1949), Head of the Editorial Board for Easy Listening and Popular Music (traditional folk music) (1949-1950) within the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Company in Bucharest. He was part of the Artistic Council of the Teatrul de EstradÄ din BucureÈti (Music Theatre of Bucharest) (1953-1956) and of the Casa CentralÄ a CreaÈiei Populare din BucureÈti (Central Institution of Traditional Creation in Bucharest) (1955-1956). He contributed with articles in "Muzica" ("Music"), "Contemporanul" ("The Contemporary"), "InformaÈia BucureÈtiului" ("Information of Bucharest"), "România liberÄ" ("Free Romania") etc.
