A nomadic artist of the 20th century, Andrei Cădere will become known as one of the most important conceptual artists of the post-war period. He began his artistic education at the Institute of Fine Arts "Nicolae Grigorescu" in Bucharest, which he attended occasionally, one of his interests being colour theory. In addition to his studies, the rest of the time he will pose as a model in the sketching studio of the Union of Fine Artists. Particular in expression, the artist will become known among art enthusiasts, interested in innovation and invention, who will become his collectors. He will make friends with artists such as Octav Grigorescu and Caius Ovidiu Pascu. Since the 1960s he will be remembered by art historians as a participant in the Romanian avant-garde art scene, taking part in the group experiments of "non-conformist" artists. In 1966 he became a member of the Union of Plastic Artists. The works of the first stage of creation will be presented as "coloured visions", integrable into the landscape genre, his research during this period being linked to finding formal abstract and geometric solutions.
