Chinese porcelain reached Europe through the maritime trade routes in the 17th century, thanks to the West India Companies. The ships were filled with decorative art objects, fabrics and spices. In recent years, ceramic objects discovered in the shipwrecks from the 17th and 18th centuries attracted the attention of experts. Fortunately, porcelain is a material that does not lose its properties in salt water, resisting even hundreds of years in such conditions. A few shipwrecks are known with certainty, including: Mauritius (1609), Witte Leeuw (1613), Banda (1615).
