41. The Longing [2025]

"The Longing" investigates how desire shapes emotional experience. It is not an explicit representation of pleasure or absence, but rather a suggestion of the tension between what is desired and what remains inaccessible. The work does not offer an answer, but creates space to contemplate the silent presence of desire in self-construction. The female figure embodies that specific expectation of youth — between vulnerability and curiosity. The cherries become symbols of temptation, and the bird, an echo of outer desire meeting inner availability.
