The period following the war meant for the artist Ciucurencu a regaining of his artistic freedom, demonstrating a true tumult in terms of mastery over the canvas as well as in the themes addressed. Alongside his exhibition activity, Ciucurencu also showed a clear interest in supporting Romanian art during this time, beginning sustained activity within the guild of artists of the Fine Arts Union, of which he became a member in 1945. Doors continued to open for him, so that in the following year, 1946, Ciucurencu took on the role of instructor at the Free Painting Academy, and a year later, in 1948, he was called to the chair at the Institute of Fine Arts, which had recently been restructured. He also joined the new manifestations of modern art, exhibiting within the "Flacăra" Group – an attempt to align forces in a new spirit, as well as at the Official Salon, after which he was awarded the Order of Work, First Class. His return to the easel, appreciated by critics and art lovers alike, presented a rich repertoire of senior portraits, illustrative compositions, interior scenes, still lifes, and landscapes – the latter occupying an increasingly prominent place.
