The organic need to express oneself at the easel manifests almost incessantly - the artist working, sometimes, as many as four-five works in a day. The turmoil and yet the tranquility of rural life are depicted through his specific plastic language, through means of expression that undeniably enrich the artist's themes. Rudolf Schweitzer-Cumpana uses strong contrasts and bets on the incandescent color. He transposes his emotions into intense games of light and shadow and reveals to us the revealing effect of the color placed directly on the canvas. He uses a generous, rich paste, which he places in harmonious strokes in fast, well-defined rhythms. Nature becomes a favorite motif of inspiration in the artist's work's economy. Traditional vessels, clay and brass, continue incessantly in his creations. We also find elements such as apples or grapes, which often chromatically merge with the background, alongside these types of vessels. Brick red and red, a few touches of orange and ocher penetrate through the work's organic surfaces. The artist takes care to create a contrast between the immobile background and the materiality of the surface under whose auspices the elements are arranged.
