He enrolled in the sculpture class of Dimitrie Paciurea in 1921, but left the School of Fine Arts in 1925, and enrolled at the Free Academy of Fine Arts. 1925 marks his debut at the Official Salon in Bucharest, where a year later he is awarded. In 1927 he received a scholarship to study in France. In Paris, he studied at the Julian Academy, then followed the free courses of the Le Grande Chaumiere Academy, in the workshop-school of the famous Bourdelle. In 1937, he received the Gold Medal at the international exhibition in Paris, and a year later he received the Prize of the Romanian Academy for sculpture. Known for the bas-reliefs made on the Arch of Triumph, public monuments or busts of prominent personalities, Constantin Baraschi amazes with mastery and skill, being the only Romanian sculptor who wrote a sculpture treatise. He has an elegant, voluptuous line, which gives him versatility both in terms of the materials used and the subjects approached.
