Identification elements of iconographic and stylistic order: It is an imperial icon. On the background of the icon, at the top there is a dark alabaster, and at the bottom a blue-green, depicting Jesus Christ down to below the waist, presented frontally, with a silver halo, crucigena around his head. Jesus is dressed as Emperor and High Priest, with a crown on his head (according to the inscription - the Pontocrator type). To his left and right, above the clouds, the intercessors are depicted - the Mother of God and St. John the Baptist - dressed according to tradition, with garments painted in shades of ochre-pink and blue; their presence refers to the type "Deisis" - Prayer. The anonymous painter respected the traditional typology in portraying the faces, but their modeling reflects a slight influence of Western painting. Also, the chromatics used deviate from traditional colors, somewhat resembling folk art. Technical identification elements: The icon is realized on a wooden panel, painted in tempera, respecting the traditional techniques of icon painting. Decorative details (the halo, inscriptions) are applied according to iconographic norms, contributing to the integrity of the technical execution. Conclusions: The icon fits in the style of imperial icons, demonstrating a traditional fidelity combined with Western influences, visible in the model of the faces and in the unusual chromatics. This technical and stylistic approach reflects the trends of the era and the proximity to folk art, managing to give the work an authentic and innovative character (A.D.).
