Iconographic and stylistic identification elements: The icon is a feastday icon and was part of the frieze of an iconostasis, of which nine icons remained in the collection. The anonymous painter depicts the scene of the Annunciation, which takes place in an interior suggested by the two fantasy furniture pieces depicted, which stand out against the blue background of the icon. To the left of the composition, standing upright, is the Archangel Gabriel, aureoled, making the gesture of speech directed towards the Virgin Mary, rendered standing, in an attitude of accepting the received news. Above, in the center, the Dove of the Holy Spirit descends from the open sky. The composition is strictly symmetrical, and the chromatic range has a dominant of red, ochre and blue. Technical identification elements: The wooden support of the painting is made of a panel, without a crossbar. Conclusions: The painting of the icon stylistically fits into the religious painting practiced in the first half of the 19th century, in local workshops, more conservative, which will gradually transform into popular painting (A.D.).
