Romanian Patriarch Justinian Marina led the Romanian Orthodox Church from 1948 to 1977, the third and longest-serving patriarch. Accused by some voices of accepting and supporting the dissolution of the Greek Catholic Church, praised by others for saving the Orthodox Church after the establishment of the communist regime, Patriarch Justinian has certainly marked the history of the BOR. The document is a letter of encouragement to the ailing Gala Galaction. It bears the Patriarch's letterhead and stamp, is dated and signed handwrittenally by the Patriarch. The original envelope, also bearing the institution's letterhead and stamp, is kept.
