Ford Mustang is a car manufactured by Ford Motor Company since 1964. At the same time, Ford introduced the pony car class. The Mustang, the third oldest name that is still produced by Ford, has undergone many changes to reach the fifth generation. The name comes from the P-51 Mustang fighter from World War II, whose fan the stylist of the car, Pres Harris was. Another name proposal seems to have come from Robert J. Egger, another important man in the company. He received as a gift a book called ”The Mustangs” from which the name came to him. In Germany, the name could not be used until after 1978, when it was sold under the name "T-5". The Mustang had 2 seats, the engine mounted in the middle and was an open type car (English: roadster). The 2-seater model was replaced by a 4-seater modelled by Joe Oros and his team of designers, winning the design competition. A Mustang also appeared in the movie Goldfinger of James Bond series, being the first appearance of the car in a movie (1964). Common parts were used with other models that were already in production by Ford (Falcon and Fairline models) in order to reduce production costs. Sales were unexpected, over a million pieces in 18 months. The Falcon engine with which the '64 model was equipped had a capacity of 2.8 litres and 101 hp but was replaced with a 4.7-litre V8 engine. The batch is accompanied by the historical vehicle certificate.
