The plaque, accompanied by its original box, was made by the Austrian engraver Johann Schwerdtner, known for the creation and production of Order of Civil Merit and Military Merit of Bulgaria. The obverse features the effigy of Maria Theresa facing right and surrounded by a circular frame, while the lower part displays the building of the Theresan Military Academy, a 13th century castle converted by the Empress, in 1751, into the oldest military academy in the world.
