The medal was made by the Austrian engraver Friedrich Leisek to commemorate and reward the winners of the Agricultural Competition in Romania in 1868. The obverse captures the bewhiskered bust of Mr. Carol I still in his youth, oriented to the left, while the reverse shows the inscription "Honour of the Cultivator", and the competition and prize award year.
