157. "Lord's Army" Medal, cca. 1930

"Oastea Domnului" represents a movement within the Romanian Orthodox Church, founded in 1923, at the initiative of the Transylvanian priest Iosif Trifa. In the priest's words, the movement represents "The discovery and preaching of Jesus Christ the crucified". After 1948 the movement was declared illegal and disbanded by the communist regime.
