Calistrat Hogas (1847-1917) became known and appreciated as a writer especially because of the volume "Pe drumuri de munte". Connected to the literary environment at the magazine "Viața Românească" ("Romanian Life"), Hogaș also asserted himself as a teacher and school principal. The volume has cardboard covers covered in cloth, and the edge is gilt. After the title page, there is an original photo of the author captured in a mountain landscape, taken in the summer of 1896, followed by a manuscript page from "Pe drumuri de munte", the beginning chapter of the book. The volume has the ex-libris of the historian describing the participation of Romania in the First World War, Constantin Kirițescu. Also, on the main cover, centrally, his monogram is present.
