Roberto Carlos has participated with the Brazilian national football team in three World Cup Championships, helping his team reach the final in 1998 and win it in 2002. He was also teammates at Real Madrid with David Beckham and Luis Figo, being part of the Galacticos group. In April 2013, he was included by Marca in the "Best Eleven in Real Madrid's history". He is also known as one of the best left backs of all times, for the execution power of his free kicks, which sometimes takes on a bewildering effect on the goalkeeper, as well as for the numerous runs in support of the offensive. In March 2007, Roberto Carlos became one of the five players who played more than 100 matches in the Champions League at the time.
