45. Christ [1991]

The painting "Christ" by Dimitar Kirov, better known to the public as DiKiro, was created in 1991. It is part of his "Burnt Icons" cycle, which is deeply connected to the inner, spiritual world of the artist. About icon painting, Kirov says that it has always been an inseparable part of his creative inspiration over the years. In the "Burnt Icons" cycle, the main motif is the idea of the despotism of faith. His distinctive style is evident in the composition, which combines a rich palette filled with bright and contrasting colors and emphasized dense brushstrokes that testify to the strong emotional impact on the viewer.
